DFSS/Six Sigma

Seth, Good evening!

I have never really thought of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) as the official way to integrate innovation into Six Sigma.

DFSS is a means for designing products (and processes) utilizing Six Sigma.

Innovation can definitely be utilized in DFSS, as well as "regular" DMAIC Six Sigma.
